CSR Technologies offers an easy-to-use, leading-edge security solution for people wanting to have private, secured connections while using their home wireless systems and public access points. Wireless Personal Secure makes a secured tunnel from your PC or laptop to our server on the Internet. All of your information that would ordinarily be sent on the wireless network to the Internet is first encrypted and put into the tunnel. The information travels through the secured tunnel over the wireless network and out to the Internet and to our server. Nothing traveling through the tunnel can be decrypted by anyone along the way, including to people spying on your wireless network. Our server then takes your information out of the tunnel and decrypts it, and sends it on to the real server it was intended for. Whatever data that server sends back is encrypted and put back in the tunnel by our server and sent to your PC or laptop where it is taken out of the tunnel and decrypted.
We have tested it with many applications, instant messengers, email clients, web browsers, etc, and have as of yet to find one that it doesn't work with.
How easy is it to use? To install - download and run one installation package (less than a minute on broadband). To secure your wireless - click "Secure", whenever you're done, click "Stop Security". While your security is active, you use all of your applications just like you did before you ever installed your Wireless Personal Secure client, there is no change and you won't be able to tell a difference. Is that easy or what?
We know security is very complicated (that's an understatement), and we wanted to provide the best available security at the lowest possible price with the easiest to use application. We didn't want any of our users to have to know the first thing about networking, hacking, wireless, or security. We wanted a completely secure application with two buttons "secure" and "stop security". After we designed the application we decided we better add one more, "Exit" so you could close it when you were done.
So when you want security, click "Secure". When you're done, click "Stop Security". It's just that easy.
How secure is it? Don't let how easy it is to use fool you into thinking we took a shortcut on security. The authentication and the encryption that the Wireless Personal Secure uses is what industry leaders herald as "best practice". That means we couldn't make it any stronger until a newer technology comes out.
